The exploitation of MGRs has the potential to sustainaibly deliver considerable wealth and business opportunities. The inability of governments to reach agreement would present a very real threat to the pursuit of the current international activities aimed at conserving and utilizing MGRs.
This forum responds to growing concerns over too slow or interrupted international negotiations on marine genetic resources (MGRs). CIESM mandate is to help and influence the current policy debates on MGRs. Your contribution to this forum can make a change. Let’s discuss together the reasons of this paralysis and let’s find together the best way to raise the decision makers’ interest
